This is the only tutorial for MS Paint, well cause I don't use it that much, so this may be the only one that there will ever be ~_~.
You will need Jasc Animation Shop 3 to do this totorial. And duh, MS Paint.
1. Open up MS Paint.
2. Go to View>Zoom>Custom, set the zoom to 800%.
3. Press Ctrl+G, to add grid lines.
4. Select the Rectangle tool, and make sure you are using the color black.
5. Draw a rectangle in the top left hand corner, some good sizes to use are: 8x8, 8x10, 10x10, and 9x12.
6. Select the color fill tool, and pick a color new color, besides black, and fill your square
7. This step and the next are optional, if you want to give your boxes the 3-D look follow steps. Go to colors>edit colors, and make both a litter and a darker shade of the color you used to fill your square, set both colors as custom colors.
8. Now there are a few ways to make your block look 3-D, look at the picture for some examples.

9. Click on the selection tool and select your block (just the block with no other empty white spaces) Hit Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste. Move the new square next to your first and keep repeating until you have the exact number of blocks as the word you are trying to make.
10. Now comes the tricky part, Select the Pencil tool and a color that you can see against your background color (I normally use black), depending on how big your block is, is depending on how youre going to make your letters (click the word letters for some letters look, I used a 9x12 square). Use all upper case, and try to center them, it is a little hard I know, but youll get the hang of it with time.
11. Again select the Selection tool and select the WHOLE blinkie and NOTHING more, you no white around it. Hit Ctrl+C again and open up Jasc Animation Shop 3.
12. Up at the top click the button that looks like a clipboard with a piece of film in front of it, this is called the paste as new animation button.
13. Two buttons down there will be a past after current animation button click this button until you have 1 more slide than the number of letters in the word you are making, for example if I were to do my name AMBER I would make sure I have 5 slides. Now some people like to make flash, and all kinds of spiffy things, but for now we are just going to make every letter flash once.
14. Go to View>Zoom in by 5. This will make your next couple of steps that much easier.
15. Pick a color that will most defiantly stand out against the background of your blinkie and is also different than the original color of the letters. Select the flood fill tool.
16. In each new frame use the flood fill tool to make a letter a different color. Do your letters in order, like in the 1st frame only the 1st letter in a new color, in the second frame the second letter should be colored, look at the picture if you are confused. Leave the last one with all the letters there original colors.
17. Your Blinkie is finally done and you can now view it by clicking the view animation button in the upper right corner.
You can also change the how long the slide shows for, keep it between 10-20 seconds. You can do this by right mouse clicking on the slide and clicking frame propreties you can only do this though, if you have the arrow tool selected.
